Retaining Walls in Rockledge, FL

Holds soil. Sheds water.

A wall holds back soil and water, so we build for both.

A solid base, drainage behind it, and stone or block that suits the house.

Retaining Walls

What you get from us.

Brevard looks flat until you try to plant a slope or level a patio.

A retaining wall holds soil in place and gives you level ground to use.

We build walls as part of the landscape: raised beds, terraces and planters.

Stone and block are chosen to match the pavers and the house.

The part you do not see matters most: a firm base and a way out for water.

Grading and drainage are planned with the wall, not after it.

The two owner-designers draw it, and our crew builds it.

What is included

The scope, spelled out.

  • Retaining walls

Walls that hold a grade change, built in natural stone or block.

  • Raised planter beds

Walled beds that lift planting above wet ground and frame an entry or patio.

  • Terracing and grading

Slopes are reshaped into level steps you can plant, mow or walk on.

  • Drainage behind the wall

Gravel backfill and outlets give water a way out from behind the wall.

  • Pavers and natural stone

Patios, paths and steps are built to tie into the wall.

  • Planting and finish

Beds, sod, mulch and lighting go in around the finished wall.

Brevard County conditions

Built for sand and high water.

USDA describes Myakka soil, found across much of Florida’s flatwoods, as poorly drained sand.

In that soil the water table is less than 18 inches down for 1 to 4 months in most years.

So a wall here has to let water out. Drainage behind it matters as much as the face.

The City of Rockledge lists land disturbing activity and patios over 100 square feet as permit work.

For a wall, the Building Division confirms what the project needs before work starts.

Retaining Walls, answered.

More questions? Call (321) 252-1620.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall in Rockledge?

It depends on the project. Rockledge lists land disturbing activity among work that needs a permit.

The Building Division confirms what applies.

Why does drainage behind a wall matter?

Wet soil pushes harder on a wall than dry soil.

USDA puts the water table under 18 inches for months in Myakka flatwoods soil.

Can a wall fix a wet or sloped part of my yard?

Often it is part of the fix. A raised bed lifts plants above wet ground, and grading moves water away.

What are your walls built from?

Natural stone or block, chosen to suit the house. We source premium materials.
