Landscaping in Titusville

Thirty-five minutes up US-1.

Titusville City Hall is about 35 minutes from our office, 21.5 miles up US-1.

It is the farthest town we list, and the south end of the city is a little closer.

The typical Titusville home was built around 1982, and about 72% of homes are owner-occupied.

Space View Park, on the riverfront, faces Kennedy Space Center across the Indian River.

In Imperial Estates, in south Titusville, we set a pygmy date palm among limestone boulders.

Blue daze, a low blue-flowered plant, completes that bed.

We also built in Hidden Hills, off Fox Lake Road: a Titusville address outside the city limits.

Local conditions

What Titusville yards ask for.

Titusville wrote its own fertilizer law in 2014, and it reaches from the lawn to the storm drain.

  • Ordinance 36-2013

City law bans nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer from June 1 through September 30.

  • Ten feet from water

Titusville allows no fertilizer within ten feet of any water body. We plan those strips to need none.

  • Slow-release, by law

From October through May the city requires fertilizer with at least 50% slow-release nitrogen.

  • Clippings off the pavement

Clippings and plant debris may not be washed, blown or swept into storm drains here.
